Jeddah Chamber: 30% increase in licenses issued to «Cafes» in 2017

The Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce in Jeddah, Hassan Dahlan, revealed the increase in the licenses issued for the coffee shops in the city of Jeddah in 2017, 30% from the previous year 2016. He drew attention to the recent statistics issued by the US Foreign Trade Bureau, related to the consumption of chocolate and coffee in the Kingdom, Reported that the Saudi individual consumes annually 3 kg of chocolate, while the consumption of coffee in one year 30.4 kg.

Dahlan affirmed Jeddah's readiness to host the International Coffee and Chocolate Show at its first exhibition at the Exhibition and Conference Center during the period from 30 March to 2 April 2018, in recognition of the interest of a large segment of the community in coffee, which is an interface of Arabic culture and symbol of generosity. The Saudis are hard to dispense with, while one can not ignore the association of chocolate with coffee and the love of Saudi society for these two products, citing the number of licenses issued for the activity of cafes in the city of Jeddah in 2017 exceeded 400.
